Kelis

Kelis is an American singer whose recordings move between R&B, pop, electronic music and soul. Her early career included the album Kaleidoscope and the single Milkshake, while later releases took markedly different directions, from the dance music of Flesh Tone to the live instrumentation of Food.

Released by Ninja Tune in 2014 and produced with Dave Sitek, Food drew on gospel, soul and funk. Kelis also trained at Le Cordon Bleu, developing a parallel career in cooking that informed the album’s title and presentation.
