Flea is an Australian-born bassist, trumpeter and founding member of Red Hot Chili Peppers. His playing draws on jazz, punk and funk, combining rhythmic precision with an energetic stage presence. Beyond the band, he has worked with musicians including Johnny Cash, Tom Waits and Alanis Morissette.
Jazz and trumpet playing preceded his fame as a rock bassist. He returned to those interests on Honora, his 2026 solo album for Nonesuch, working with musicians including producer and saxophonist Josh Johnson, guitarist Jeff Parker, bassist Anna Butterss and drummer Deantoni Parks.
