Paul McGann

Paul McGann is a British actor whose work spans film, television and audio drama. He graduated from RADA in 1981 and gained national attention playing Percy Topliss in Alan Bleasdale’s television serial The Monocled Mutineer (1986).

He appeared opposite Richard E. Grant in Withnail and I (1987), and his other early films include The Rainbow and Empire of the Sun. In 1996 he played the Eighth Doctor in the Doctor Who television film. He later returned to the role on screen and in an extensive series of audio adventures, giving that incarnation a continuing life beyond its original television appearance.
