Biography
Person.
Daniel Radcliffe is a British actor whose childhood casting as Harry Potter placed him at the centre of one of the defining screen franchises of the early twenty-first century, but whose later career has been shaped by a determined movement away from a single inherited identity. Beginning with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001, Radcliffe played the character across all eight films, growing up in public while the series became a global publishing, cinema and merchandising phenomenon.
After Potter he increasingly chose theatre, independent film and deliberately eccentric roles, appearing in Equus, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Cripple of Inishmaan, Swiss Army Man, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story and other projects. His stage work culminated in a Tony Award for the 2023 Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along.
