Biography
Person.
Stefano Pilati is an Italian fashion designer, born in Milan, whose career includes work for Armani, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent and Zegna. He joined Yves Saint Laurent in 2000 and served as its creative director for eight years before leaving in 2012, developing a body of work strongly associated with the house’s tailoring and modern wardrobe.
He founded Random Identities in 2017, establishing an independent project based in Berlin. The label places emphasis on personal identity, function and design rather than conventional distinctions between men’s and women’s clothing. It marked a move from leading major fashion houses to building a more personal design practice.
