Sophia Roe

Sophia Roe is a chef, writer and television host whose work connects cooking with food access, sustainability and social justice. She hosts and produces Counter Space, which uses food stories to examine political and environmental change, from disrupted supply chains to the cultures surrounding particular ingredients.

Roe received the James Beard Foundation's Emerging Voice award in broadcast media in 2022 and has been nominated for Daytime Emmy awards. She also founded Apartment Miso, a space for developing food and creative projects. Her work moves between recipes, visual presentation and reporting, treating what people eat as inseparable from the systems that make it available.
