Sacha Baron Cohen

Sacha Baron Cohen is an English actor, comedian and writer whose characters include Ali G, Borat and Brüno. Born in London, he studied history at Christ’s College, Cambridge, and performed with the Footlights. His comedy often builds around an invented interviewer whose encounters with real people expose assumptions about class, nationality and social behaviour.

He developed these characters across television and feature films, with the Borat films receiving Academy Award nominations for adapted screenplay. His work also includes more conventional film roles, among them Abbie Hoffman in The Trial of the Chicago 7, alongside the disguised performances for which he first became known.
