Biography
Person.
Nancy Sinatra is an American singer whose collaboration with songwriter and producer Lee Hazlewood helped shape 1960s pop. “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” became a British and American number-one single in 1966, followed by recordings that mixed country, psychedelia and pop, including the duet album Nancy & Lee. She also sang the theme to You Only Live Twice, recording in London with John Barry.
Her spare version of “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” reached another generation through Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill. In 2004 she worked with admirers including Morrissey and Jarvis Cocker, extending the exchange between her earlier records and British alternative music.
