Catalogue note
Spring 2026, Volume IV Issue 26 of The Face, in the True Whitaker cover variant photographed by Ari Marcopoulos. The masthead still announces an imminent launch of THE FACE China, making this an unusually revealing terminal issue: Wasted Talent announced The Face’s closure later in March 2026, after this issue had already appeared. It is therefore the final print issue of the 2019–2026 Wasted Talent revival, though not necessarily the final issue forever because C86 acquired the title in May 2026 and the current site says The Face will return.
Why this object matters
The final issue of the Wasted Talent revival is an exceptional publication-state document: its forward-looking China announcement survives within an issue subsequently overtaken by closure. Retain Gold close to the 2019 revival launch and original-run final issue, rather than near the foundational 1980 launch. The True Whitaker/Marcopoulos cover adds photographic specificity; this is not asserted to be The Face's final issue forever.
