Catalogue note

Original May 1993 launch handbill for Generator, 'The Energy of Dance Music and Culture', advertising the new dance-music magazine's nationwide 27 May street date. Front promises coverage 'from soul to hardcore and everything in between' and names Paul Oakenfold, Colin Faver, Warlock and Bob Masters. Reverse promotes Dr Devious & The Temple of Kaos.

Advertised programme: No individual graphic designer, cover photographer or reverse-side artist could be defensibly identified; no attribution invented.

Graphic-design significance: Front uses Generator's launch-era masthead, red field, turquoise divider and club photography with dense yellow display copy. Reverse shifts into early-digital psychedelic imagery for Dr Devious / Temple of Kaos. No defensible individual designer/artist credit established.

Historical context: Generator's own surviving back-issue material identifies Issue 1 as June 1993; this handbill advertises nationwide street date as 27 May, establishing it as pre-launch/launch publicity.

Production note: Full-colour commercial print on coated stock; exact process and stock not established.

Condition note: Very Good appearance, ungraded. Light handling/edge wear with small puncture/staple-type holes near lower margin; colours strong and text fully legible.

Confidence / uncertainty: Launch date and promotional copy physically evidenced. Issue 1 / June 1993 independently supported by Generator's own back-issue index. Reverse Dr Devious advertisement is integral. Designer/photographer and pictured cover subjects remain unattributed.
