Catalogue note

Original double-sided RuffAge weekly flyer for Room 101 (Peppers), Midway, Newcastle-under-Lyme. The reverse calls RuffAge 'The Only Saturday Hardcore Night In Stoke', gives £3/£4 admission and 9:30pm–2am hours, names DJ Dream as resident, and lists guest DJs and MCs connected to Middlesbrough, Shelley's/Crewe, Swansea, Alsager and Manchester. The front uses a distinctive monochrome geometric composition centred on a human silhouette.

Advertised programme: Resident: DJ Dream (RuffAge/Preston). Special guests: DJ Rhythm (Fixation/Middlesbrough); DJ Chocco (Shelleys/Crewe); DJ Asylum (True Solution/Swansea); DJ Hov (Alsager); DJ Ricky (Manchester). MCs: Chemistry and The Sunshine Kid.

Graphic-design significance: The front is radically different from RuffAge's cartoon/circuit variants: a stark monochrome geometric field of circles, crescents and repeating arcs surrounds a central human silhouette with raised arms, while the RuffAge wordmark is integrated into the composition. No designer credit is visible, so the artwork is intentionally left unattributed rather than assumed to be by The Noyce.

Historical context: Specialist archive evidence places Peppers in active Newcastle-under-Lyme club use in 1992 and Room 101 there in September 1993. The flyer names the venue as 'Room 101 (Peppers), Midway' and promotes RuffAge as 'The Only Saturday Hardcore Night In Stoke'. Its programme captures a network extending well beyond Stoke: DJ Dream is identified with RuffAge/Preston; DJ Rhythm with Fixation/Middlesbrough; DJ Chocco with Shelley's/Crewe; DJ Asylum with True Solution/Swansea; DJ Hov with Alsager; and DJ Ricky with Manchester. The Shelley's affiliation is particularly useful beside TMR's other evidence of post-Shelley's Staffordshire hardcore continuity.

Production note: Black monochrome printing on white/light uncoated paper or light card; exact printing method and stock not established.

Condition note: Very Good appearance, ungraded. Light edge and corner handling, several small puncture/staple-type holes near the margins, minor surface rubbing/marking and slight local edge wear. Black printing remains strong and all reverse text is fully legible. No major tears or paper loss visible.

Confidence / uncertainty: The flyer itself is undated. 1993 is recorded as a high-confidence campaign attribution, not a physically verified exact issue date, based on a separately dated 8 May 1993 RuffAge flyer with matching weekly venue/hours/admission plus independent evidence for Room 101 in September 1993. Guest affiliations are preserved exactly as printed and are not expanded into unverified identities or organisational histories. No designer attribution is inferred from the stylistic relationship to other RuffAge flyers.
