Peter Gabriel

Peter Gabriel is a British singer, songwriter and musician who first became known as the vocalist of Genesis. After leaving the band in 1975, he developed a solo career through recordings including Solsbury Hill, Games Without Frontiers and the album So, which contained Sledgehammer and his duet with Kate Bush, Don’t Give Up.

Gabriel’s interests extend across recording, film and musical exchange. He helped establish WOMAD, bringing musicians from different traditions together through festivals, and composed scores for Birdy, The Last Temptation of Christ and Rabbit-Proof Fence. His album i/o, released in 2023, continued a solo career combining pop songwriting with experimental production.
