Biography

Person.

Jamie Morgan is a photographer whose collaborations with stylist Ray Petri gave the Buffalo approach a defining visual form in The Face during the 1980s. Their shoots combined sportswear, tailoring, surplus clothing and street casting in images that unsettled conventional menswear codes and created greater space for Black models in British fashion publishing.

The National Portrait Gallery highlights the pair’s January 1984 Nick Kamen cover as a key moment when photography, styling and the discovery of a new face converged.
