Alan Martin

Alan Martin, also credited as Alan C. Martin, is a comics writer and the co-creator of Tank Girl with artist Jamie Hewlett. The character first appeared in Deadline in 1988, combining punk imagery, absurd adventures and irreverent comedy within a magazine that placed comics alongside music and youth culture.

Martin continued writing Tank Girl beyond the original Deadline run. His books include The Gifting, Visions of Booga, Skidmarks and Carioca, as well as the prose novel Tank Girl: Armadillo!. Subsequent collected editions have returned to the Hewlett–Martin strips with new colouring and material from the creators' archives.
