Robert Gordon

Robert Gordon was an American singer who helped drive the rockabilly revival of the late 1970s. He first attracted attention in New York’s punk scene as a member of Tuff Darts, then worked with producer Richard Gottehrer and guitarist Link Wray on records rooted in early rock and roll.

Robert Gordon with Link Wray appeared in 1977, followed by Fresh Fish Special and Rock Billy Boogie. His collaborators later included British guitarist Chris Spedding, with whom he recorded the Elvis Presley tribute It’s Now or Never. Rockabilly for Life, released in 2020, brought together guests from several generations of rock music.
