Biography
Person.
Mari Wilson is a British singer who emerged in the early 1980s with the Wilsations, combining pop and soul with a stage presentation associated with her beehive hairstyle. Her 1982 single Just What I Always Wanted reached the UK top ten, followed by the album Showpeople in 1983.
Her recordings for the Compact Organization included Cry Me a River and the theme song for Dance with a Stranger. Later work extended into jazz standards, while Pop Deluxe revisited the repertoire of British singers of the 1960s.
