Biography
Person.
Guy Hamilton (1922–2016) was a film director whose career began in French cinema before he worked as an assistant to Carol Reed and John Huston. Reed helped him move into directing with The Ringer in 1952; his subsequent films included The Colditz Story and The Devil's Disciple.
Hamilton directed four James Bond films: Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun. His work helped establish the series' mixture of humour, spectacle and gadgetry, spanning the transition from Sean Connery to Roger Moore.
