Tom Tully

Tom Tully was a British comics writer whose scripts appeared across the adventure, war and sporting weeklies published by Fleetway and its successors. His work included Heros the Spartan, The Steel Claw, Mytek the Mighty, Johnny Red and The Leopard from Lime Street.

He became particularly closely associated with Roy of the Rovers, writing the continuing adventures of Roy Race and Melchester Rovers over many years. He also contributed Harlem Heroes to the early history of 2000 AD. Working across different genres and artists, Tully helped sustain the weekly serial storytelling through which several generations of British readers encountered comics.
