Biography
Person.
Cam Kennedy is a Scottish comics artist whose rugged line, strong blacks and instinct for machinery made him one of the defining visual interpreters of 2000 AD’s war and science-fiction worlds. He became a key early artist on Rogue Trooper and drew many Judge Dredd stories, co-creating characters including Kenny Who? and the Taxidermist.
Kennedy’s work is built for environments under pressure: battlefields, industrial landscapes and battered vehicles are rendered with enough texture to feel used rather than designed, while his figures retain a direct physical clarity. Beyond 2000 AD he worked on Batman, Lobo, Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a substantial body of Star Wars comics, as well as the Batman/Judge Dredd crossover Vendetta in Gotham.
