Tracey Thorn

Tracey Thorn is a British singer, songwriter and author who began making records with the Marine Girls before releasing the solo album A Distant Shore. She formed Everything but the Girl with Ben Watt, developing a partnership that moved from intimate guitar-based songs into electronic music.

Thorn has also recorded solo albums and collaborated with artists including Massive Attack. Her books, including Bedsit Disco Queen and Another Planet, examine music, performance and the experience of growing up in suburban Britain. Everything but the Girl returned with Fuse in 2023, reconnecting Thorn’s voice and songwriting with the duo’s electronic sound after a long recording break.
