Sergio Stivaletti

Sergio Stivaletti is an Italian special-effects and make-up artist, born in Rome in 1957, whose career is closely connected with Italian horror cinema. He has collaborated with directors including Dario Argento, Michele Soavi and Lamberto Bava, working across physical effects, make-up and visual effects.

His credits include The Stendhal Syndrome, Dellamorte Dellamore and Scarlet Diva. He also moved into directing, making his feature debut with Wax Mask in 1997. His work brings the construction of screen illusions into the foreground, linking the craft of effects workshops with the visual imagination of horror and fantasy films.
