Biography
Person.
Kevin Rowland is a singer and songwriter who leads Dexys, originally known as Dexys Midnight Runners. The group's early records included Searching for the Young Soul Rebels and the number-one single Geno. Their second album, Too-Rye-Ay, produced Come On Eileen, Britain's biggest-selling single of 1982.
Rowland's expressive singing and the band's changing appearance have been central to Dexys' identity. Later work continued that willingness to revise the group's sound and presentation, including The Feminine Divine. His writing has also extended into memoir with Bless Me Father, which reflects on his upbringing and life in music.
