John Tyler Christopher

John Tyler Christopher is an illustrator from Lafayette, Indiana, whose work includes comic-book covers and imagery for games, film and television. His cover credits span Marvel titles such as Star Wars, New Mutants, Spider-Man and Venom, alongside Top Cow's Witchblade and Artifacts and DC's Voodoo.

He is particularly associated with variant covers using action-figure packaging and negative space. These designs give familiar characters a distinctive presentation through the cover itself, alongside his more conventional illustrated commissions. His work has also appeared on the fiftieth-anniversary Spider-Man encyclopedia.
