Biography
Person.
Craig Hanel-Thomson is a British photographer born and raised in Yorkshire. He studied fashion photography at the London College of Fashion under Mark Lebon, then assisted the photographer Perou before joining VICE as a staff photographer.
His work moves between portraiture, music, fashion and youth culture. Subjects have included New Order, Ian Brown, Marilyn Manson, Dizzee Rascal, Kanye West, Lily Allen, Wiley and Crystal Castles, with editorial work for publications including Rolling Stone and i-D and commercial commissions for Nike, Sony, Coca-Cola, Levi’s and Adidas.
He has also lectured at the London College of Fashion and exhibited internationally. The common thread is direct, character-led photography: polished when it needs to be, but rarely too tidy.
