Francesco Francavilla is an Italian comics artist and writer whose drawing draws on pulp fiction and the atmosphere of early crime and horror cinema. He has produced covers for publishers including Marvel, DC, Dynamite, IDW and Image, as well as interior artwork for Batman: The Black Mirror and other DC stories.
His own series The Black Beetle follows a masked adventurer through occult and criminal threats. He also collaborated with Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa on Afterlife with Archie, bringing horror imagery to the familiar Riverdale characters.
