Catalogue note

Series-premiere issue of Matthew Rosenberg and Carmine Di Giandomenico's Joker follow-up, launched in October 2022 and ultimately running twelve issues. DC describes it as picking up from the cataclysmic end of the preceding The Joker series. This copy is the open-order Lee Bermejo Cover B card-stock state, pairing the launch of the new narrative with an artist already strongly associated with darker, naturalistic Joker imagery. The physical object also preserves a contemporaneous Black Adam theatrical advertisement, useful paratext for DC's 2022 comics-to-screen promotional ecosystem.

Writer: Matthew Rosenberg

Artist: Carmine Di Giandomenico; Arif Prianto (colours); Francesco Francavilla (backup story); Tom Napolitano (letters)

Cover: Lee Bermejo

Edition: Cover B · Lee Bermejo card stock variant · Collect Forever designation #1B · original first printing · UPC 76194137651600121 · Lunar 0822DC020

Why this object matters

Bermejo’s Joker cover and the period Black Adam advertisement connect the 2022 series launch to established artist and film-promotion contexts. The regular variant is meaningful evidence, but neither a follow-up launch nor familiar cover artist sustains the prior 8.6.

Evidence limits: Appears complete as encapsulated. Front and reverse are visible, but the interior has not been physically collated and staples, centre spread and page sequence cannot be independently inspected while the Soft Slab remains closed.

Score and assessment method

Archive Importance: 7.8 / 10.
