Biography
Person.
Andy Warhol worked across painting, printmaking, photography, film, video and publishing, using the visual materials of advertising, celebrity and mass reproduction to test distinctions between commercial and fine art. His 1960s images of consumer products and famous faces became central to Pop art, while films, Screen Tests, television projects and the social world around the Factory extended his practice far beyond painting.
The Andy Warhol Museum preserves work and archival material spanning his career, including the Time Capsules through which everyday documents became a form of cultural record.
