Biography

Person.

Tracey Ullman is a British-born performer whose career combines comedy, acting, singing and impersonation. She trained in performing arts, worked as a dancer and became familiar to British television audiences through the sketch show Three of a Kind before a successful period as a pop singer.

After moving to the United States, she developed The Tracey Ullman Show with James L. Brooks. The programme combined character comedy with animated shorts that introduced The Simpsons. Her later work includes Tracey Takes On… and further television performances built around sharply observed voices, mannerisms and social types, drawing on both British and American life.
