Siouxsie Sioux

Siouxsie Sioux is a British singer best known as the vocalist of Siouxsie and the Banshees. The group’s recordings linked post-punk experimentation with an increasingly expansive approach to pop, and helped shape the sound and visual identity associated with gothic rock. Their songs include Spellbound, from the album Juju.

She also worked with drummer Budgie as the Creatures, exploring music centred on voice and percussion. Her first solo album, Mantaray, appeared in 2007. In 2022 she selected the tracks and supervised the artwork for All Souls, a Banshees compilation that brought together material including Spellbound, Fireworks and Peek-A-Boo.
