Antonio Margheriti

Antonio Margheriti (1930–2002) was an Italian film director and special-effects practitioner who often worked under the name Anthony M. Dawson. His career crossed science fiction, Gothic horror, westerns and action cinema, bringing model work and elaborate visual effects into productions made with limited resources.

His films include Space Men, Castle of Blood, Take a Hard Ride, The Last Hunter and Yor: The Hunter from the Future. He also undertook effects work for other directors, including Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dynamite.
