Catalogue note
Fourth issue of the independent Delirium reference series, devoted to Italian cinema released in 1981. The cover promises comprehensive reviews of 47 films, detailed cast and credits, alternative titles and international video-release information, alongside interviews with Luigi Cozzi, Joe D’Amato, Antonio Margheriti, Michele Soavi and David Warbeck and filmographies for George Eastman and Tonino Ricci. Compared with the earlier monochrome issues, Issue 4 documents Delirium’s move toward a more polished small-press form with full-colour covers while retaining the publication’s specialist pre-web research function. The rear reproduces French poster artwork for Horrible, the French title of Absurd / Rosso sangue, tying the object directly to the alternate-title and international-distribution problems Delirium was created to document.
Why this object matters
Issue Four adds filmmaker interviews to its 1981 survey, supplying direct testimony as well as compiled reference information. That documented difference supports a modest increase over the neighbouring research issues; the colour-cover transition alone would not justify it.
Evidence limits: Complete under the standing TMR completeness rule. No missing pages, inserts, supplements or other issued components have been reported.
