Biography
Person.
Stevie Wonder is an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who emerged as a child performer at Motown. Early records including “Fingertips”, “Uptight” and “My Cherie Amour” led into an increasingly independent musical practice, combining expressive vocals with keyboards, harmonica and inventive electronic arrangements.
His 1970s work includes “Superstition”, “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” and the double album Songs in the Key of Life. He also toured with the Rolling Stones, carrying Motown's influence into the wider rock audience. His achievements have been recognised by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Library of Congress's Gershwin Prize.
