Hedi Slimane is a French fashion designer and photographer, born in Paris in 1968. After working on menswear at Yves Saint Laurent, he shaped Dior Homme’s identity through closely cut tailoring and an androgynous silhouette, leading the line until 2007.
He returned to Yves Saint Laurent as creative director from 2012 to 2016, introducing the Saint Laurent name for its ready-to-wear collections. He then led Celine’s creative and image direction from 2018 to 2024, extending the house into menswear and perfume. Alongside fashion, he maintains a photographic practice documented through his online Diary.
