Joe Jackson

Joe Jackson is an English singer, songwriter and musician whose career has moved from the new-wave period into jazz, Latin-influenced pop and other forms. His 1979 debut Look Sharp! included “Is She Really Going Out with Him?”, and was followed by I’m the Man.

Night and Day, made in New York and released in 1982, marked a change towards keyboards, percussion and Latin rhythms, without the guitar-led sound of his early records. Body and Soul continued his exploration of a broader musical vocabulary. Jackson’s subsequent recordings have repeatedly changed the instrumentation and setting of his songs while retaining his voice as their centre.
