Biography

Person.

Paul Haig is a Scottish singer, songwriter and musician who first became known as the frontman of Edinburgh post-punk band Josef K. The group’s sharply rhythmic guitar music contributed to the independent pop vocabulary taken up by later British bands.

After Josef K split, Haig developed a solo career that moved towards electronic pop and dance music. His 1983 album Rhythm of Life was recorded in New York with contributions from Anton Fier, Bernie Worrell and Tom Bailey. The change from urgent guitar arrangements to synthesizers and studio production established the stylistic range of his subsequent solo and collaborative work.
