Ali Mahdavi

Ali Mahdavi is an artist, photographer and director based in Paris. He studied at École Boulle, École Duperré and the École des Beaux-Arts, and worked in Thierry Mugler’s design studio before developing a career in fashion photography.

His images draw on Hollywood glamour, theatrical lighting and transformations of the body. His editorial work includes Dazed & Confused, i-D and Vogue Hommes International. As artistic director at the Crazy Horse in Paris, he worked with choreographer Philippe Decouflé on the revue Désirs, alongside continuing his own photographic and film projects.
