Catalogue note
Original first-print Cover A of Skinbreaker #1, the September 2025 Image Comics / Skybound series premiere by Robert Kirkman and David Finch. The eight-part fantasy-survival epic follows aging chieftain Enor, his reluctant heir Anok and a community threatened by internal succession conflict and dangers beyond their village. The first printing sold out at distributor level and was followed by a second printing on 29 October 2025, a third printing on 3 December 2025 and a fourth printing on 1 April 2026. This copy therefore preserves the original launch state at the head of a four-printing publication history.

Why this object matters
The Kirkman/Finch collaboration and original Finch/Leoni cover make Skinbreaker meaningful creator-owned fantasy evidence. The documented reprint sequence preserves reception history, but repeated demand does not by itself establish the outstanding cultural standing implied by 8.8.
Evidence limits: Complete under standing TMR accession rule. No missing issued component is reported; comic remains enclosed in its Collect Forever Soft Slab.
Historical context
Skinbreaker #1 was first published on 24 September 2025. Image Comics and Skybound announced on 29 September that the first printing had sold out at distributor level and that a second printing would follow on 29 October with a recoloured main cover and an additional new cover. Subsequent catalogue evidence records a third printing on 3 December 2025 and a fourth printing on 1 April 2026. These reprints demonstrate sustained demand but do not establish the size or scarcity of the first-print run.
Preservation rationale
The value of this copy as an archive object lies partly in its position as the original physical state before three subsequent printings altered the issue's bibliography. Retaining the first-print Cover A alongside its later printing history allows TMR to document publication sequence rather than treating all copies of Skinbreaker #1 as interchangeable. The existence of later printings strengthens the bibliographic significance of the first state without being used as evidence of rarity or market value.
Uncertainties
- No verified first-print quantity or total print-run figure has been found; the existence of three later printings must not be treated as proof that the first printing was scarce.
