Catalogue note

Original double-sided One Nation flyer for The Halloween Ball at The Rocket, Holloway Road, London, on Saturday 29 October 1994. The front carries signed Junior Tomlin artwork; the reverse documents a major early One Nation bill including Jumping Jack Frost, Slipmatt & Randall, Dougal, LTJ Bukem, DJ Sy, Ellis D, Pooch and Unity, with MC GQ, MC Conrad, MC Melody and MC Free & Easy. A second arena is explicitly billed House/Garage, and the reverse preserves production details, sound system, lasers, dancers, ticket outlets and the promoter’s regional distribution network. Surviving recordings from this exact event provide a rare direct bridge between the printed flyer and the sound of the night.

Advertised programme: Arena 1: Jumping Jack Frost; Slipmatt & Randall; Dougal; LTJ Bukem; DJ Sy; Ellis D; Pooch; Unity. MCs: GQ; Conrad; Melody; Free & Easy. Arena 2, House/Garage: Roy Collins (DJ Ellis D, house set); John “00” Flemming; Alan Littlewood (Club X); Rob Andrews (Tribal Dance).

Historical context: The Halloween programme retains a separate House/Garage room and explicitly bills Ellis D under Roy Collins for a house set. This is unusually direct printed evidence that one performer could bridge musical rooms. The themed backdrops and dancers show how the promoter sold a staged environment as well as a DJ bill.

Confidence / uncertainty: Preserve the printed address and stage-name spellings. The existing record’s later genre context should not be mistaken for a genre heading printed above Arena 1.

MC Free & Easy: promoter and later film career

MC Free & Easy recurs across the One Nation flyers. DJ Phantasy identifies the alias as Terry Stone; Stone’s agency documents his later acting and film production. The connection links the microphone, event promotion and cinema, while the flyer establishes the advertised booking. Read the source.

Further sources

Event details are drawn from the held object and the qualified catalogue research above. A printed bill establishes an advertised booking, not confirmation that a performer appeared.

Why this object matters

The Halloween flyer provides a precise early One Nation programme, parallel House/Garage room and regional distribution network with signed Tomlin art. Its relationship to exact-event recordings supports Gold; comparable richness across the run tempers the previous 9.4.

Evidence limits: No new physical inspection or collation was performed. Copy-specific conclusions remain limited to the retained catalogue and accession evidence.
