One Nation — The After Easter Party

Catalogue note

Original double-sided One Nation promotional flyer for The After Easter Party at Roller Express, Edmonton, on 9 April 1994. Junior Tomlin's signed front illustration uses a playful Easter image of a woman bursting from a giant chocolate egg, while the information-heavy reverse documents a two-arena early-jungle/hardcore bill, MC culture, regional ticket distribution, event production, merchandise and transport. The flyer explicitly describes the night as the start of a series of monthly One Nation events.

Advertised programme: Main Arena: Ellis Dee; Jumping Jack Frost; Kenny Ken; Hype; Swan-E; Ray Keith; Dominate; Marvellous Caine. Arena Two: Kemistry & Storm; Squirrell; Riddler; Creepar; Ruff Rider; Frenzic. MCs: Free & Easy; Matrix; Montana.

Graphic-design significance: Signed 1994 Junior Tomlin Easter illustration: a woman bursts from a giant chocolate egg over a warped checkerboard floor. Reverse advertises One Nation merchandise and exclusive Junior Tomlin T-shirts, documenting the extension of Tomlin's visual identity into event merchandise.

Historical context: The flyer announces the start of a monthly One Nation series at Roller Express. It combines a free minibus from Tottenham Hale, a regional ticket network and merchandise with two programmed arenas. The explicit offer of Junior Tomlin T-shirts shows the artwork extending into clothing. Arena Two matters in its own right: Kemistry & Storm appear alongside Squirrell, Riddler, Creepar, Ruff Rider and Frenzic.

Kemistry & Storm: work behind the decks

MC Free & Easy recurs across the One Nation flyers. DJ Phantasy identifies the alias as Terry Stone; Stone’s agency documents his later acting and film production. The connection links the microphone, event promotion and cinema, while the flyer establishes the advertised booking. Read the source.

MC Free & Easy: promoter and later film career

The recurring MC Free & Easy credit connects these One Nation bills. The archive’s existing identification links the name to Terry Stone, whose agency biography documents the One Nation venture and later acting and film production. The useful connection is between performing, organising and cultural work; the flyer itself establishes only the booking. Read the source.
