Catalogue note

Original two-sided Fusion rave flyer advertising its first New Year's Eve all-night party for Farnborough Recreation Centre on 31 December 1994. The printed object records a £20 ticket price, a 3,000-ticket limit, national Hectic outlet network and a two-room hardcore programme. Specialist rave-history sources show that the advertised Farnborough event could not proceed after a local entertainment-licence refusal; a hurried Rivermead, Reading plan also failed, and Fusion/Hectic ultimately staged the night at the Ravedome, Hounslow as “IIIrd Time Lucky!”. The flyer therefore survives as material evidence of the abandoned advertised venue plan as well as of Fusion's 1994 hardcore network.

Advertised programme: Printed main-room credits include Slipmatt, Vibes, Dougal, Ramos, Druid, Clarke'E', Seduction, Vinylgroover, Dr S Gachet and Unknown; live P.A. Ramos & Supreme & Sunset Regime; MCs Marley, Shadow and Freestyle. Room 2 prints Cuttin' Run, Billy Bunter, Tribe, Mr Hyde, Haze, Hixx, Menace, DJ Lee and SDR, with MCs Free N' Easy and MC Knight. Unidentified credits retain their printed spelling.

Through the flyers

Explore the club-culture timeline to follow advertised dates, places and billed performers across the held flyers.

Event details are drawn from the held object and the qualified catalogue research above. A printed bill establishes an advertised booking, not confirmation that a performer appeared.

Why this object matters

The obsolete advertised Farnborough venue, read beside the retained relocation evidence, makes this exceptional documentation of rave's licensing and logistical instability. Retain Gold for that discrepancy rather than line-up size. The flyer proves the planned venue, not where the event ultimately occurred; it sits below the direct political organising of Advance Party.

Evidence limits: No new physical inspection or collation was performed. Copy-specific conclusions remain limited to the retained catalogue and accession evidence.
