Catalogue note

Original A5 double-sided flyer for Tazzmania at The Rhythm Station, Aldershot, on Friday 18 November 1994, 9pm–6am. Presented by Equinox Promotions, it advertises a Happy Room with Slipmatt, Ratty, Vibes, Dougal, Dr S Gachet, Fade, Sy, Vinyl Groover and Mr Hyde plus MCs, alongside a Hard Trance/Techno room. It belongs to Tazzmania’s early Rhythm Station series and is valuable contemporary evidence of the explicit “Happy Hardcore” label and increasing room-based genre differentiation in late 1994.

Advertised programme: Happy Room: Slipmatt; Ratty; Vibes; Dougal; Dr. S. Gachet; Fade; Sy; Vinyl Groover; Mr Hyde; MC Knight; MCs Smiler and Smiley. Room Two — Hard Trance/Techno: DJ X-Ite; Steve Hyde; Gillis; DJ Influence.

Graphic-design significance: The front uses an irreverent Tasmanian-devil-style cartoon figure wearing a TAZZ cap against loosely airbrushed tropical foliage and pastel spray colour, with hand-rendered TAZZMANIA lettering. No designer credit is visible.

Historical context: BOROSIX documents Tazzmania’s Rhythm Station sequence as 30 September 1994 (Genesis), 18 November 1994, 16 December 1994 and further dates into 1995. The Scene #2 reproduces the 30 September Genesis advert and describes it as the first in a series of Tazzmania club nights promoting happy-hardcore vibes, placing this flyer early in that Aldershot series.

Production note: Full-colour illustrated face with red/yellow/black typographic reverse on paper/card stock; exact printing process and stock not established.

Condition note: Excellent to Near Fine appearance, ungraded. Very light edge/corner handling and minimal surface wear. Strong colour and excellent legibility; no significant folds, tears, staining or paper loss apparent.

Confidence / uncertainty: Exact date, hours, venue and line-ups are physically verified and independently corroborated at event level by BOROSIX. Ratty is linked to DJ Ratty; Vibes to DJ Vibes. Lesser-billed names remain printed credits where identity is unresolved. Printed billing documents advertised appearances, not confirmation of performance.
