Catalogue note

Original double-sided Mind Blown Productions flyer for a pre-Christmas rave at Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Friday 13 December, attributed at high confidence to 1991. The event bills DJ SS, Pilgrim and Gemini, MC Rider, London guest crew Mach III with Goldie as host MC, and Bizarre Inc. live on stage. The fluorescent psychedelic front is paired with a detailed reverse listing regional ticket outlets and production attractions.

Advertised programme: DJs: DJ SS, Pilgrim, Gemini. MC Rider. Special guest Mach III (London): DJ Kamistry, DJ Storm, DJ G.G., DJ Three Bass; Goldie billed as host MC. Live on stage: Bizarre Inc., billed with 'Such a Feeling' and 'Playing With Knives'.

Graphic-design significance: The front is visually exceptional: fluorescent orange/red and deep blue/violet undulating stripes create an optical, almost psychedelic field beneath a large metallic-grey 'MIND BLOWN' wordmark. The reverse shifts to a utilitarian monochrome information sheet. The contrast between expressive front and dense functional reverse is particularly strong.

Historical context: The flyer sits within the early-1990s West Midlands rave network at a moment when breakbeat hardcore, live dance acts and regional promoter circuits were rapidly expanding into large civic venues. Wolverhampton Civic Hall became a significant rave venue in the following years, including Quest events. The present flyer predates that better-documented period and captures a transitional 1991 scene linking local Midlands DJs, London guests and chart-visible dance acts.

Production note: Front uses fluorescent orange/red, deep violet/blue and metallic grey/silver inks on card/paper stock; reverse is black monochrome on pale stock. Exact printing process and stock not established.

Condition note: Very Good appearance, ungraded. Light edge and corner handling, minor surface rubbing and small local marks. Several small pin/staple-type holes are visible near the lower edge and margins. Fluorescent and metallic front inks remain strong; reverse text remains fully legible. No major tears or paper loss visible.

Confidence / uncertainty: The year is not printed. 1991 is a high-confidence attribution based on Friday 13 December calendar alignment and Bizarre Inc.'s specific 'Such a Feeling' / 'Playing With Knives' billing, but no exact-event contemporary listing has been independently located. 'Goldie' is preserved exactly as the printed host-MC credit and is not linked to Clifford Price without stronger evidence. Mach III, Kamistry, Storm, G.G., Three Bass, MC Rider and Bizarre Inc. remain exact printed credits unless separately resolved.
