Catalogue note

Complete four-photo original colour fold-out for Raindance 'The Slightly Late Valentines Ball', Saturday 16 February 2008, 10pm–7am at SeOne Arches (London Bridge, 41–43 St Thomas Street), with advertised conditional Weston Street Tunnel extension, seven musical arenas and an additional £5 two-arch VIP afterparty 7am–1pm. Lavish pink Valentine images introduce the old-skool 'first ever at Raindance' live booking of Rozalla and her 1991 UK No.6 anthem Everybody's Free, with jungle guests Krust, Kenny Ken, Nicky Blackmarket, hardcore and Jenkins Lane reunion, hard house, breaks and house/electro. The original preserves lineups, ticket suppliers/online MySpace-era links, venue map, £20 main tickets and conditions. Contemporary HarderFaster verifies date and prices, while claimed road closure is still subject to licence on outer page. Separate from existing 2007/Dec 2008/2010 Raindance flyers.

Advertised programme: Old Skool: Rozalla live Everybody's Free (first Raindance claim); Glen Aston/Squirrel; Billy Bunter; Ratpack/Danny C; Trix/G Magical; Demo Cru/Ratty; MCs Robbie Dee & Ice || Drum & Bass/Jungle: Nikki Dimensions; Tabby; Modified Motion; Devious D; Swan-E; Ruffstuff; Krust; Phantasy; Kenny Ken; Nicky Blackmarket; hosts Moose/Five Alive || Magic Hardcore Raveabout: Grandad; Billy Daniel Bunter; Sc@r b2b Uplift; HB/Ponder; Vibes/Livelee; Def-DJ/Spinback; Tiny/Sparkee; MCs Rizla Dizla/Spenno || 89–90 Jenkins Lane: Jack Bass; DJ Skie; Joey G; Dave Minns b2b Nikki Dimensions; Old Gits (Nice N Eazy and DJ Shakez); Billy Buntersaurus || Mad Hatters Hard House: James Nardi; Wain Johnston; Caz Wood; Raf; Tony Roberts; Mark Ashley; Above b2b Ajay; Nicky D || Can U Feel It Breakbeat: Phono Bros; Equalizers; Ellis Dee; Soto/Mofo; Napt; Apply the Breaks (5 Dex N Fex Mash Up); Ken Mac (host) || Yuk & Pussina House/Electro: Nonstop Heroes; Gareth Wylde; Jesse James; RPM DJs; Chrissy Maranello; Mr Arkoss; Filth Monkeys || VIP Afterparty Mash-Up: Separately paid 7am–1pm TWO arches: D&B Phantasaurus; Ruffstuff/SLB/DJ Skyz; Ben J/Spice. Graphic-design significance: Extensive pink, violet, red and blue romantic/fantasy club artwork with intertwined figures and rose motifs, glow/flare effects, the neon blue Raindance wordmark and emphatic outlined Valentine typography. The fanfold uses seven separate large graphic blocks for different scenes—Mad Hatter cartoon, breakbeat stencil, Jenkins Lane heritage, jungle smileys—and a special afterparty block. Coloured booking stripes, a miniature site map, original web/MySpace list and huge printed national-agent directory are exemplary 2008 club ephemera design. Maker uncredited.

Historical context: Raindance began in the 1989 rave era and calls 2008 its nineteenth year. On 16 February it billed seven main simultaneous genres and a 7am–1pm additional two-arch VIP party at SeOne, near London Bridge. Original inner text claims second Weston St Tunnel closure, while outside requires a licence; keep both as published without assuming road was actually shut. The 1991 Rozalla UK No.6 chart single and original advert provide old/new rave dialogue. The contemporary HarderFaster listings verify date, venue and £20/£5 pricing. Other held SeOne Raindance programmes show April 2007 six arches, Dec 2008 Xmas Snow Ball and the 20 Feb 2010 annual Valentines, shortly before SeOne's reported 22 Feb 2010 closure. No false equivalence to the 2010 event.

Production note: Commercial multicolour printed paper, magenta/pink/blue fantasy cover and colourful ticket-band reverse; exact printing technology and paper coating unverified.

Condition note: Good to Very Good by inspection of four photographs: fold seams/creases as expected, vibrant pink/purple print, slightly softened/rubbed perimeter corners, small cover scuffs and light handling. Both unfolded full spreads remain complete and legible. No significant paper loss, detached folds, large tears, tape repair or missing printed panel. Not mint; no tactile conservation/measurements.

Confidence / uncertainty: PHYSICALLY VERIFIED: 16 Feb 2008 SeOne, all seven areas and their original guest lists, 10pm–7am plus 7am–1pm VIP, £20/£5 entry, historic nationwide agents, 41–43 St Thomas Street, claims of first Rozalla Raindance and second tunnel closure, outer licence caveat. INDEPENDENT: period HarderFaster corroboration, Official Charts Rozalla No.6 and Bristol university Krust biographical background; London SE1 later SeOne closure. UNKNOWN: actual performances, sanctioned tunnel closure, artwork maker, paper size, run.
