Desire ’93 — Saturday 18 September, the first Kelsey Kerridge event of a series whose 9 October follow-up calls itself second.

Temptation Promotions and 2000 AD Productions, physically described as having 'JOINED FORCES'. Both existing TMR promoter authorities reused, without confusing 2000AD with the comics publisher.

High-confidence original-period 1993 promotional print based on physical typography/date and independent exact-event flyer repositories, but forensic authentication and impression number not established.

Catalogue note

Original two-sided 18 September 1993 Desire ’93 flyer from Temptation and 2000 AD Productions for Kelsey Kerridge Sports Hall, Cambridge, with vivid red fashion/club cover and 'Putting the Fun Back into Raving!' slogan. Its dense reverse preserves seven timed Arena One DJ bookings (including Gappa G, Peshay, Slipmatt, Randall, Ellis Dee), MC Rage & White Jack, six Arena Two acts, the explicit happy-hardcore versus house-and-garage split, £13.50-plus-fee tickets, Creative Image graphic credit, Jester Sound Systems and a blank free-membership form. Gappa G's same-date recording is indexed by Rave Archive UK; the separate 9 October Desire flyer is its chronological companion in TMR.

Advertised programme: ARENA ONE: STUART BANKS (9–10pm); GAPPA G (10–11pm); PESHAY (11pm–midnight); SLIPMATT (midnight–1:30am); JUMPING JACK FROST (1:30–3am); RANDALL (3–4:30am); ELLIS DEE (4:30–6am). MCs: RAGE & WHITE JACK. ARENA TWO (no individual time slots): MATT MAURICE; DAVE VALENTINE; TONY PETCHELL; BAFF; CHRIS BROWN; ANDREW R. Flyer describes Arena One as uplifting happy hardcore and Arena Two as the freshest global house & garage; all appearances and styles are advertised claims.

Graphic-design significance: Minimal but striking red-on-red fashion/club imagery: an unidentified brunette wearing red sunglasses and a red two-piece in a posed dancing stance on a vivid red field; very large dark angular 3D-effect DESIRE ’93 headline and slogan 'PUTTING THE FUN BACK INTO RAVING!'. Reverse contrasts yellow/blue/pink/green text and logos on black-red gradient with densely typeset ticket agents and precise DJ schedule. Credits DESIGN BY CREATIVE IMAGE along its edge. No unverified sitter, photographer or MFACT credit imported from October.

Historical context: Temptation Promotions and 2000 AD Productions advertised a joint Desire ’93 at Kelsey Kerridge Sports Hall, Cambridge, Saturday 18 September 1993, 9pm–6am. The original reverse specifically divides the musical policy into uplifting happy hardcore in Arena One and 'the freshest global house & garage' in Arena Two. Main Arena programme sets a seven-DJ running order, from Stuart Banks (9–10pm), Gappa G (10–11pm), Peshay, Slipmatt, Jumping Jack Frost, Randall through Ellis Dee (4:30–6am); MC Rage and White Jack named. Arena Two lists six performers led by Matt Maurice without times. The 9 October 1993 original from the same owner is expressly marketed as the second Cambridge series event. Independent Phatmedia/OSA listings support the exact September object; Rave Archive UK separately hosts a recording labelled as Gappa G at this exact date and venue, though its tape provenance is not verified. Printed promoter claims include a 30,000 sq ft venue, two JBL systems 40K/20K, lasers, interactive screens, licensed bar and security; these are advertising descriptions, not independently measured physical outputs or attendance.

Production note: Vivid full-colour red photographic design front, dark-background multicolour reverse; exact printing technique, print stock and original number produced unknown.

Condition note: Front main image, text and edges retain strong red colour and good legibility; modest upper corner softening, slight left/right edge rubs and small age/handling marks. Reverse is densely printed yet readable, with small corner scuffs and edge wear; free-membership name/address/postcode/DOB fields visibly blank. No clearly large fold break, serious tear, major staining, trimming or missing section seen in photographs; paper stock, measurements and unseen conservation issues remain unverified.

Confidence / uncertainty: All printed date, venue, promoter, price, advertised times, programme, venue/address, music policy, ticketing, production copy, blank form, Creative Image and Jester Sound credits directly inspected. 'First Cambridge night' high-confidence relational attribution drawn from the later October flyer calling itself second, NOT a printed 'FIRST' on this September example. Gappa G is an existing canonical TMR DJ authority, not a new proposed person, with an externally labelled recorded set. Andrew R is NOT automatically Andrew Richardson, Chris Brown not mapped to similarly named celebrities, and White Jack/Baff are left literal without fabricated biography. No printed MFACT mark established on this cover.
