Catalogue note

Large multi-panel promotional document for ESP Promotions' Dreamscape XI, 'The Pinch and the Punch', staged at The Sanctuary in Milton Keynes on 1 July 1994. The object combines event artwork and two-arena programming with a nationwide ticket network, Dreamscape mail-order recordings and a substantial official merchandise catalogue, making it unusually rich evidence of the commercial and visual infrastructure surrounding a major mid-1990s rave brand.

Advertised programme: Arena One: Peshay, Randall, Fabio & Grooverider, Mastervibe, Jumping Jack Frost, LTJ Bukem, Donovan Bad Boy Smith, Bryan Gee, DJ SS. Arena Two: Swan-E, Vibes, Dougal, Clarkee, Hype, Brisk, Ratty, Ellis Dee, DJ Rap. MCs advertised include GQ, MC MC, Magika and Robbie Dee.

Historical context: Dreamscape emerged from ESP Promotions and became closely associated with The Sanctuary in Milton Keynes. Retrospective first-person testimony from ESP co-founder Stacey Beetson and DJ Dougal describes the development of ESP and the move into the Sanctuary, while surviving recordings independently identify Dreamscape 11 / The Pinch and the Punch as the 1 July 1994 event. The two-arena bill is particularly useful evidence of the scene's stylistic differentiation: the physical flyer places artists associated with emerging jungle/drum-and-bass culture alongside hardcore figures within one Dreamscape event.

Condition note: Original used example with pronounced historic fold lines, creasing and handling wear, edge/corner wear, small surface abrasions and localised marks. Printing remains vivid and the extensive event, ticketing, mail-order and merchandise information is legible.

Event details are drawn from the held object and the qualified catalogue research above. A printed bill establishes an advertised booking, not confirmation that a performer appeared.

Why this object matters

The Dreamscape fold-out documents a mature promoter's music, merchandise and recorded-set economy in substantial detail. It remains outstanding primary evidence within the Sanctuary sequence. The promoter's wider reputation and the transition toward separate genres do not establish an exceptional exact-event claim on their own.

Evidence limits: No new physical inspection or collation was performed. Copy-specific conclusions remain limited to the retained catalogue and accession evidence.
