Catalogue note
Original double-sided programme flyer for Equinox at Milwaukees covering five Friday all-nighters from 14 April to 12 May 1995, with the 3rd Birthday Party on 28 April. The programme documents a dense transitional-era roster including DJ Rap, Fabio, Randall, Ellis Dee, DJ Vibes, LTJ Bukem, Ray Keith, Jumping Jack Frost, Grooverider, Micky Finn, Slipmatt, DJ Hype, Top Buzz and DJ SS. Its reverse describes Equinox as a weekly all-nighter entering its fourth year and announces that Milwaukees’ second arena, “The Happy Room”, will be opening soon, making the sheet valuable evidence of the longevity and evolving genre structure of a regional rave institution.
Advertised programme: Friday 14 April: DJ Rap; Fabio; Randall; Ellis Dee; Naughty; Steve E Wonder; Food Junky. Friday 21 April: Vibes; Randall; LTJ Bukem; Ray Keith; Ellis Dee; Jumping Jack Frost; Mastergroove. Friday 28 April — Birthday Party: Ray Keith; Grooverider; Micky Finn; DJ Rap; Slipmatt; Fat Controller; Steve E Wonder. Friday 5 May: Fabio; Randall; LTJ Bukem; Vibes; DJ SS; Slipmatt; Dominate. Friday 12 May: Top Buzz; Slipmatt; Ellis Dee; Fat Controller; DJ Hype; Ray Keith; Naughty. MCs listed: Juice Man; Dread; MC Lust.
Graphic-design significance: The front is unusually restrained for rave ephemera: a predominantly green photographic/abstract landscape with a pale central horizon, dotted orbital-line graphics, oversized blue EQUINOX lettering and a compact badge-like “3rd Birthday edition” device. The reverse switches to an information-first blue/lime layout built around five circular date modules. The clarity and repetition suit a weekly programme rather than a single spectacular event. No designer credit is visible and none is inferred.
Historical context: The programme places Equinox at Milwaukees in a continuous weekly lineage: the promoter describes the third birthday as a milestone and says the night is moving into its fourth year. TMR already contains Equinox 2 at Milwaukees from May 1992 (TMR-000759) and a later September/October Equinox programme (TMR-000682). This 1995 sheet therefore materially strengthens an unusually coherent longitudinal record of the same regional weekly rave institution across multiple years.
Production note: Full-colour printed paper/card stock; green photographic/abstract face and blue/lime programme reverse. Exact printing process and stock not established.
Condition note: Excellent to Near Fine appearance for period ephemera, ungraded. Very light edge/corner handling and minimal surface wear are visible. The sheet lies flat, retains exceptionally strong colour and has excellent legibility on both faces; no significant folds, tears, staining or paper loss are apparent.
Confidence / uncertainty: Exact 1995 dating is physically verified. “Vibes” is linked to TMR’s established DJ Vibes authority on scene/context grounds; the printed form remains Vibes. The printed credit “Naughty” remains unresolved and is not linked to a People authority. Steve E Wonder, Food Junky, Mastergroove, Fat Controller and Dominate remain as printed credits without new People authorities because identity evidence is insufficient. The claim that Equinox was the UK’s longest-running weekly all-nighter is preserved explicitly as promoter copy, not independently asserted as fact.
