Biography
Person.
Dean Ormston is a British comics artist whose dark, heavily textured drawing has moved comfortably between science fiction, horror and damaged-superhero mythology. His early professional work was closely tied to Judge Dredd: The Megazine, where he drew material including Raptaur and episodes of the large-scale Judgement Day crossover.
He later became a regular presence in DC’s Vertigo line, contributing to The Sandman, Lucifer, The Books of Magick and other titles, while also working across projects including The Crow and The Invisibles. In the 2010s Ormston became a central visual collaborator on Jeff Lemire’s Black Hammer, bringing an expressive, weathered quality to a series built around ageing superheroes and the residue of comic-book history.
