Emma Summerton

Emma Summerton is an Australian photographer whose work developed from fine-art study and self-portraiture into fashion editorial and exhibition practice. Born in Wollongong, she studied photography and printmaking at Sydney's National Art School and moved to London in 1998. Her Polaroid self-portraits helped bring her work to the attention of fashion magazines in the mid-2000s.

She subsequently photographed for Dazed & Confused, Self Service, i-D and several international editions of Vogue, with a sustained creative partnership with Edward Enninful. Alongside these commissions she has continued making personal photographic work, exhibited in projects including Landed and 14 Spells. Summerton photographed the 2023 Pirelli Calendar.
