Biography
Person.
Matthew Rosenberg is an American comics writer whose work moves between creator-owned stories and major superhero properties while retaining a strong interest in damaged communities, genre conventions and characters trying to build families under pressure. He co-created titles including We Can Never Go Home, 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank and What’s the Furthest Place from Here?, alongside writing established series and characters including Uncanny X-Men, The Punisher, The Joker and DC vs. Vampires.
His creator-owned work often uses the machinery of crime, science fiction or adventure comics to tell emotionally direct stories about young people and outsiders. In 2025 Rosenberg reunited with artist Stefano Landini for We’re Taking Everyone Down With Us, a six-issue Image Comics series combining super-spy fiction, mad science, robots and a father-daughter story about grief, revenge and growing up.
