Biography
Person.
Terry Hall (1959–2022) was a British singer associated with the Specials, Fun Boy Three and the Colourfield. As a vocalist with the Coventry group the Specials, he became a recognisable presence in the 2 Tone movement, which brought ska and reggae into contact with punk and new-wave music. The band’s recordings include Ghost Town.
In 1981 Hall left the Specials with Neville Staple and Lynval Golding to form Fun Boy Three, continuing a musical partnership that moved beyond the earlier group’s ska framework. His later work with the Colourfield further extended a career that crossed alternative pop and collaborative songwriting.
